Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions and troubleshooting guides for NeoQN.
General Questions
Is NeoQN free?
Yes. NeoQN is 100% free and open-source, built without advertisements, tracking SDKs, or paywalls. You can inspect the source code on GitHub.
Why is it not on the Google Play Store?
Because Google Play Policies restrict apps that load modular plugins dynamically via class loaders (DexClassLoader) or allow manual APK extension side-loading.
Where can I request to add more provider extensions?
If your favorite novel site is missing, you can request a scraper to be built by the community:
- Join our official Telegram Channel and post in the requests thread.
- Open an issue or join the requests channel on our Discord Server.
- Make sure to provide the website URL and verify that the target site doesn't employ unbreakable DDoS protection/Turnstile loops.
Can I import my own local novels?
Yes. NeoQN supports local EPUB and PDF file imports via Library → Import (options icon). EPUB files open inside the built-in reader, while PDF documents render in a dedicated viewport.
Troubleshooting
Why are my chapters failing to load?
If a novel's chapters fail to load, check the following:
- Source Status: The source website might be experiencing downtime or strict Cloudflare protection. Open the novel in a browser via the Web View option to check.
- Outdated Extension: The source scraper might have changed its markup structure. Check if there is an update available for the extension plugin in your provider menu.
Do not bypass verification screens in external browsers if you suspect malware. NeoQN isolates scrapers, but visiting malicious external sites is unsafe.
"App Not Installed" Error
If you receive this error when updating the main app or an extension:
- Well check any announcement in telegram or discord server if the DEV has talked about signature change of the app.
- Ensure that you are downloading correct architecture apk according to your device.
- Contact dev on his community channels to talk about it.
Uninstalling NeoQN will wipe your local reading history and bookmarks unless you export a backup first in settings.
